The value you're arguing is what your home was worth on January 1 — not what it's worth today. That's the date Utah sets value on, so the evidence that actually matters is what comparable homes were selling for around then, plus anything about your home's condition the county can't see from a desk. If your county board says no, you have 30 days from the date on their decision to take it to the Utah State Tax Commission. And the deadline itself is the later of September 15 or 45 days from the day your county mailed your valuation notice. Go look at the date on yours. I can pull comparable sales for you. I can't file it or represent you at the hearing — that part is between you and your county. #utahrealestate #propertytaxes #propertytaxappeal #utahhomeowners #utahhomes Kelsey Earl, journalist turned Realtor, born and raised in Utah, Salt Lake to St. George, 801-419-8917, [email protected], Your lifelong friend in real estate 🌟
