Does Herriman, Utah have a hotel?

Quick answer

Yes. The Holiday Inn Express and Suites Herriman - South Jordan opened on September 17, 2026 at 12097 S Anthem Creek Lane, near the Mountain View Corridor. Before that, visitors and relocating buyers touring Herriman generally stayed in South Jordan, Riverton or Draper. If you are flying in to house-hunt, you can now base yourself in the city you are shopping.

Yes. Herriman has a hotel, and it is new enough that most search results still do not know about it. The Holiday Inn Express and Suites Herriman - South Jordan opened on September 17, 2026 at 12097 S Anthem Creek Lane, built, owned and managed by Kansagra Partners under license from IHG Hotels and Resorts (Kansagra Partners announcement, September 17, 2026).

That sounds like a small piece of local news, and for most residents it is. For two specific groups it is genuinely useful: people flying in to look at houses here, and people who have already moved and keep being asked where visiting family should stay.

What is actually there

The hotel sits on the west side of the valley near the Mountain View Corridor, which is the stretch of Herriman that has been filling in with commercial development rather than only housing.

The announcement lists meeting and conference rooms, an indoor pool, an outdoor patio with a fireplace, walking trail access, EV charging, a fitness center, a business center, free on-site parking and the usual included breakfast (Kansagra Partners, September 2026). The owners also described the project as something the city asked for: the announcement says Mayor Palmer told them in 2024 that it would be good for Herriman to have a hotel of its own.

I am not going to review it. I have not stayed in it and a Realtor’s opinion of a hotel breakfast is worth nothing to you. What I can tell you is what having one here changes.

Why this matters on a house-hunting trip

This is the practical part, and it is the reason I get asked the question at all.

Buyers relocating to the south Salt Lake Valley have historically flown into Salt Lake City, rented a car, and booked somewhere along the I-15 corridor — Draper, Sandy, South Jordan, sometimes downtown. Then they spent the weekend driving west to see houses and east to sleep. It works, and it quietly distorts the trip.

Here is what I actually see happen. A buyer staying in Draper spends the weekend forming an impression of Draper. They see Draper’s traffic at the hour they leave the hotel, Draper’s restaurants at dinner, Draper’s grocery stores. Then they tour four houses in Herriman and try to picture a life they have not sampled. Staying in the city you are shopping is not a luxury — it is a better test.

A few things I would do with a trip based in Herriman:

If you are coming from out of state and have not yet narrowed down which city you are shopping, what no one tells you about moving to Herriman is the honest starting point, and the relocation guide lays out how the south valley fits together before you book anything.

Why it matters if you are selling here

A smaller point, but a real one. Out-of-state buyers are a meaningful part of the demand in this part of the valley, and the ones who tour in person buy more often than the ones who tour by video. Anything that makes an in-person trip easier is mildly in your favor as a seller.

It also removes a specific objection I used to hear from buyers writing offers sight unseen, which is that they could not find a way to come look without making a project of it. If you are weighing whether a remote buyer is serious, the trip is now a lower bar than it was, and that is a reasonable thing to ask them about. For the related case where someone genuinely cannot travel, buying a Utah house sight unseen on PCS orders covers how that is done properly.

The question behind the question: where do my visitors stay?

I would guess half the people searching this are not travelers at all. They live here, or they are about to, and they are working out what happens at Thanksgiving.

This is a bigger deal than it sounds for people relocating from somewhere their extended family could drive to. A house with a guest room solves it once. A house with no guest room, in a city with no hotel, turns every visit into a negotiation about who sleeps on the couch and who drives forty minutes back to a hotel at the other end of the valley.

It is also one of the quietest drivers of the “should we buy bigger” conversation I have with relocating clients. Families stretch for a fourth bedroom specifically so visiting parents have somewhere to go. Sometimes that is the right call. Sometimes the honest math is that a hotel a short drive away is dramatically cheaper than the bedroom, and the right house is the smaller one. That is a conversation worth having before you write the offer rather than after you have bought the square footage.

What it signals about Herriman, and what it does not

Taken on its own, a hotel is not a trend. Taken together with the rest of what is going into the Mountain View Corridor side of the city, it is part of a pattern: Herriman is slowly acquiring the commercial layer it did not have when most of its housing was built.

That is worth understanding accurately, because it cuts both ways for a buyer.

What it gives youWhat it costs you
More services without leaving the cityMore traffic on the corridor side
Daytime jobs closer to homeConstruction for several years
Somewhere for visitors to stayA less quiet western edge than the one people bought into
A more complete town over timeOpen ground becoming buildings

If you are shopping near that corridor specifically, whether living near the Mountain View Corridor matters when buying in Herriman is the post to read, because proximity to the thing that brings the services is also proximity to the thing that brings the traffic.

And the unflattering half: one hotel does not make Herriman a destination, and it does not change what the city is thin on. What there is to do in Herriman is still mostly an outdoor answer, and for larger cultural events and most nightlife you are still driving into the rest of the valley. Nobody should buy here because of a Holiday Inn.

Who this actually changes something for

Short list, honestly:

And who it changes nothing for: everyone who already lives here and was never going to think about it again after the first week.

What to do next

If you are planning a house-hunting trip, book your nights where you are shopping and build the weekend around testing the ordinary parts of the week rather than touring the maximum number of houses. Four honest hours in one neighborhood beats eight showings across three cities.

If you have not settled on the city yet, do that first — start with the relocation guide and narrow to two before you book flights.

And if you want a tour schedule built around your actual commute and the two or three neighborhoods that fit what you have described, get in touch before you buy the plane tickets and I will build the weekend around what you are really trying to find out.
