He pulled up while I was showing the house and I had no idea what was happening.
Then he rolled the window down. Hello, how are you — the sweetest man. This was my house. He said when they’re in town they usually drive by and peek through the windows. His wife had passed. He’d sold the place and moved to be closer to family. And when they come back through, they drive past and look in. So he walked through it instead. Room by room. Slowly. Here’s what I can’t stop thinking about. We talk about a house like the closing settles the question of whose it is. It doesn’t. Somebody is slowing down in front of a house they used to live in right now, looking at the window of a room where something happened to them. That house is still a little bit theirs and it always will be. Which means if you’ve ever bought a house — somebody out there still thinks about it. Have you ever driven past a place you used to live? Tell me the truth. Kelsey June Earl · Keller Williams South Valley🌟
