The crash was Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 13400 South near 5200 West. FOX 13 reported it as a 3-vehicle crash into the strip mall, and police cited a gas leak — capped by crews later that night — as what caused the explosion. Everyone in the vehicles was pulled out of the building before it blew. 3 people were injured and taken to hospitals. No deaths were reported. Residents inside a 1-mile radius were evacuated and 13400 South closed in both directions overnight for cleanup. That’s FOX 13 reporting, published July 6, 2025. Jimmy John’s, Supercuts and Domino’s all took heavy damage. Jimmy John’s reopened Thursday, October 8, 2026 — so it was 15 months, not 12. Owner Debbie Merrill has had this location since 2014 and told FOX 13 it was “such a huge relief.” That’s FOX 13, published October 8, 2026. No reporting yet on whether Domino’s or Supercuts are coming back. 15 months is a long time to decide to rebuild the same building in the same spot. Somebody chose to come back. So — go-to order? I need suggestions. #Herriman #JimmyJohns #HerrimanUtah #SaltLakeCounty #UtahRealEstate ⭐ Kelsey Earl, Keller Williams South Valley, 801-419-8917, [email protected], your lifelong friend in real estate
