Three things worth knowing: If you ask for the item, ask in writing — what, by when, and what happens if it isn't there. "They'll take care of it" is not an agreement, and the day you need it to be one is the day it won't be. If you do end up taking money instead, that's a change to the deal and it goes in writing too. A verbal "we'll knock something off" is worth exactly as much as the first one. And the reason this fight even exists: whatever you actually care about should be named specifically before you're under contract. Make and model, not "appliances." Specific is the whole ballgame. Whichever way you go — your agent and the contract first, an attorney if it doesn't resolve. What you're owed is a legal question, not a vibe.
