The FHFA House Price Index for Utah was 305.85 in the 1st quarter of 2011 and 864.92 in the 2nd quarter of 2026. That's up 183%. Two things that didn't fit in the video: Since 2016 it's up 126%. That's the more honest number — the 1st quarter of 2011 was near the bottom of the crash, so anchoring there makes the jump look bigger than a normal stretch of time would. It's still enormous either way. And this is an index, not a price. It tracks repeat transactions on the same homes, so it measures change — it isn't a median sale price and it isn't what any specific house is worth. Data runs through the 2nd quarter of 2026. Send this to whoever keeps saying they should have bought in 2011. #utahrealestate #utahhousingmarket #homeequity #movingup #realestatetips
