Setbacks, height limits, lot coverage, sometimes an HOA on top of all of it — and the rules are different in every Utah city. A remodel you can't get permitted isn't the cheaper option. It isn't an option. That's a 10-minute phone call and it decides the whole question before your budget ever enters it. If it is allowed, get both numbers before you decide. What the work costs, and what your house is worth as it sits today. Either number alone tells you nothing. Together they tell you which of the two problems you actually have. One thing people leave out of the math: you live in it while it happens. Some people are fine with that and some people are absolutely not, and that's worth being honest about with yourself before anyone starts demo. Who to ask for what — contractor for the build, the city for what's permitted, and me for what it's worth now and what that does to your options. Comment the one thing your house is short on and I'll tell you which list it's on. Next one: what a lender is actually looking at when they tell you what you qualify for. ⭐ Kelsey Earl, 801-419-8917, [email protected], Keller Williams South Valley, your lifelong friend in real estate. #utahrealestate #homeremodel #movingup #sellingyourhome #utahrealtor
