You are at the southwest corner of the valley. That means you are driving north for nearly everything downtown, and the geography does not change no matter which route you take.
The time: 35 minutes clear, more at rush hour
Non-stop drive time is about 35 minutes (Distance-Cities.com). That is the number you will get from a mapping app at ten in the evening, and it is the number that ends up in people’s heads.
Morning and evening, Bangerter and I-15 back up. Drive it yourself at 8am before you commit to a downtown job from here. Not on a Sunday, not at lunchtime. At 8am on a weekday. That single test has changed more minds than anything else I say to buyers.
This is the most common regret I hear from people who bought in Herriman, and it is entirely avoidable.
Your two roads: Mountain View Corridor and Bangerter
Mountain View Corridor runs up the west side and keeps getting built out. Bangerter Highway has been converted to freeway-style interchanges at the major crossings.
Those two are what make a west-valley commute workable at all. Which one your neighborhood feeds onto matters more than almost any other location factor in Herriman — more than the school boundary, more than the view.

Where you work changes everything
Downtown is the long haul. But a great many Herriman buyers do not work downtown.
South Jordan, Riverton, and the Point of the Mountain tech corridor are all far shorter drives — and for those commutes Herriman is genuinely convenient rather than a compromise. The city gets unfairly judged by a downtown commute that many of its residents never make.

There is no TRAX or FrontRunner station in Herriman. The nearest TRAX stop is the Red Line’s Daybreak Parkway station in South Jordan (UTA).

How many days a week are you genuinely in the office?
